A Virtual Private Server, or VPS for short, has all the benefits of a physical server without the huge upfront purchase and running costs. A VPS is a software-based server that has its own dedicated resources including CPU, RAM (memory), HDD (storage) and network connectivity. It is not shared with any other users and all of its resources are dedicated to your website.
A VPS is typically used if you run a busy website with many hundreds of hits per day, or if you are running an e-commerce solution such as WooCommerce where data processing and speed are critical. A VPS is an excellent solution if you also just want to ensure your website responds quicker than that which can be achieved using my “Cloud-Like” hosting.
VPS As Part Of Your Web Design
You can choose to have your new website hosted on a VPS immediately after your website is launched. Alternatively, you can launch your website on my “Cloud-Like” hosting initially, and then migrate your website across to a VPS as and when you require. All my VPS solutions are managed. What does this mean? It means that all software is kept up to date (for example, the operating system) and your WordPress Core and plugins will be updated in the same way as if you were hosting the website on my “Cloud-Like” hosting. You’ll also benefit from daily backups of your website.
